“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world.” Margaret Mead

SPA’s slogan has been proven true (in Spokane!) many times over. Learn how we do it by joining us on March 23, 2023 for a panel discussion on “Advocacy and Historic Preservation,” when we will highlight SPA’s history and current advocacy activities. Our special guest will be Chris Moore, Executive Director of the Washington Trust for Historic Preservation, who will talk about best practices in advocacy. We will also discuss financial and other incentives to save historic buildings and preserve community character. Additional guests will be Karen Dorn Steele, winner of the 2022 Ann Price Advocacy Award and former advocacy committee chair, Jesse Bank, our current advocacy chair, and Megan Duvall, Spokane City and County Historic Preservation Officer. The event will be held from 5:30 to 7:00 pm at the Liberty Park Library Event space, at 402 S. Pittsburg Street.

This event will be both in-person and via Zoom but you must register to attend. To register click
